You did C/P the text before posting in case of failure in the shoutbox? That would have been a real headache. :D

Great show. However, some timecodes really frustrated me tonight. Major examples being 06, 07 and 16.

For 06, the transition itself was a bit messy, with the vocal beginning slightly before the pad came in for 06, so instead of cutting up the first bit of the singer's voice between the end of 05 and the beginning of 06, I pushed the timecode back just a tiny bit to capture the very start of the vocal, even if that meant the exact sound transition for 06 wasn't to be perfect.

For 07 and 16 I had to decide whether to leave Armin's lengthy voiceovers in the previous tracks (06 and 15) or keep them in 07 and 16 for perfect DJ mix transitions. After some deliberation, I decided to push the starting times for 07 and 16 past his voiceovers, even though parts of 07 and 16 were already playing behind his voice. I just think it sounds a lot nicer to start each track from the music only and I don't think people who are splitting their files up want to hear Armin's voice for 30+ seconds everytime they want to play the actual tracks. I wouldn't do this if he only spoke very briefly, but in special cases such as these, I think it's a worthy sacrifice.

Of course, I do recognize that this also means that other tracks become longer and have the last 30+ seconds of Armin's voiceover and the next track's beginning, but I think that's a lot less bothersome as people can simply skip forward to the next track at that point. I did leave Armin's voiceover in 11, but the transition from 10 to 11 was quite jarring and 11 plays for over a minute while he's speaking. Thus, I can't just always tune out Armin by leaving him at the end of the previous track, especially if it means I cut out 1 minute of the next track also. Generally speaking, it's not necessary to do what I did for 07 and 16, as I aim to create perfect transitions between the tracks in the DJ mix, ignoring the presence of Armin, Markus or whomever's voice. However, sometimes special situations come around, like tonight, when it's just a lot more pleasant to hear the actual music right away and I modify my technique accordingly.

Most of you won't care about this much since this is just a radio show mix and you will probably (want to) acquire all the tracks you like in full length at some point in the future, but I thought it was worth explaining anyway. Maybe some of you might find it interesting to get inside the crazy mind of this .CUE maker.

Enough of this babble. Enjoy!
